Open Educational Resources (OER)
The growing demand for non-formal and continuing education and informal skills training in Bangladesh in the backdrop of ongoing rollout of ICT infrastructure have created unique scope to address huge demand through different delivery channels. Understanding the transformative potential of OER, CINED starts developing Open Educational Resources first time in DAM aiming to widen the access of need based quality materials.
CINED organized Workshop on “OER Policy Development for Dhaka Ahsania Mission”
OER
Considering the growing necessity and demand, Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) has developed an Open Educational Resource (OER) Policy for its educational and development institutions. Under this OER policy, a framework for DAM OER repository has also developed for the creation of OER and better management and sharing of its huge educational resources developed during the last six decades of its journey. Participants of the workshop also prepared a way forward plan.
In cooperation with the Commonwealth of Learning (COL), Centre for International Education and Development (CINED) of DAM has organized a two days workshop on the development of OER policy for DAM. 25 senior managers and heads of different DAM institutions attended in the workshop. The workshop was organized from 16 - 17 June 2019 at the auditorium of Dhaka Ahsania Mission head office.

Livelihood Skills Training Materials
In 2012, in cooperation with Commonwealth of Learning (COL), CINED developed a package of materials for use in livelihood skills training. Utilizing the strengths of Open Distance Flexible Learning (ODFL) CINED introduced an integrated multi-channel technology based delivery approach for these package materials. This approach is a combination of watching video and reading booklets individually or guided by a local facilitator. In addition, Community Radios in Bangladesh are broadcasting audio contents utilizing the contents of skills training booklets. These materials are being used in Community Learning Centers (CLC) located at the community level having ICT facilities. Private training service providers, NGOs and individuals are utilizing this OER.
The livelihood skills training package consisted of 5 Animation videos (each of 15 minutes duration) and 5 easy to read pictorial Booklets on five livelihood skills i.e. "Vermy compost", "Nursery", "Poultry farming", "Flower cultivation", and "Batik print". Users of these materials will get clear ideas about the preparatory actions, sequential steps of production process, quality control, cost-benefit analysis and budget of one cycle production including marketing of product. A list of competence that the learners would achieve after reading each booklet has been given at the end of each booklet. 5 Bengali booklets and 5 videos
With support from COL English version of 5 animation videos and 5 booklets has been developed for wider replication in other countries.5 English booklets and 5 Videos
