Bangladesh Institute of Lifelong Learning will be operating as per thedirection of Dhaka Ahsania Mission. Following are the major divisions of the institute.
The publication division will publish monographs, theses and books written by scholars including Ph. D scholars working on lifelong learning projects.A monthly /quarterly newsletter will be published to apprise the people of the activities undertaken by the Institute. A peer-reviewed journal will be published annually incorporating fundamental research in the field of lifelong learning
To offer all kinds of courses including Master /Bachelor degree courses, Diploma and Certificate courses on various subjects having demand in the market or having social significance. It will also offer courses in the distance mode. It will arrange refresher courses for professionals of all sorts, for people working in schools, colleges, universities and in the industries. Courses would be offered both during day time and in the evening to cater to regular students as well as to the working professionals.
This division will conduct, in association with organizations working at the grass-root level, adult education programs including post-literacy continuing education and skill development.
The outcome of such programs will be closely monitored and data will be meticulously collected so that over time, the progress of the neo-literates/literates could be measured and monitored.
This will constitute the backbone of important research programs and will provide important clues to lifelong learning for developing new and innovative methods in the field of adult education. Various skill development programs will be introduced for the rural/urban community so that the people trained through the programs could be gainfully employed or self-employed.
The Institute will regularly conduct workshops, seminars and conferences on various aspects of lifelong learning. These will be conducted at the national, sub-continental and international level. Such programs will connect the university with leading institutions abroad working with the same objective. It will also facilitate developing Memorandum of Understanding with leading institutions of the world.
TheInstitutewill be headed by a Director not below the rank of Pro-Vice chancellor. He/She will be directing the affairs of the Institute with complete authority and independence. TheInstitute will be provided with a budget to meet the various program expenses including holding of workshops, seminars and symposia, offering of courses including advertising for the same in the mass media and travel costs within Bangladesh and visits abroad for liaison with various organizations . The Director will behaving office staff including a secretary.There shall be a Deputy Director of the rank of an associate professor /assistant professor who will assist the Director in implementing the programs of the Institute. There shall be a Project Officer belonging to an assistant professor’s rank who will look after specific projects. There shall be an Office Accountant who will keep an account of the day to day income and expenditure of the Institute. There shall be a librarian to take care of the libraryand the archive.
