Project Introduction: Dhaka Ahsania mission implement QPE Project at Jaldhaka upozilla by support of Plan Bangladesh from 01 January 2012 to 31december 2015 covered hole upozilla 11 union with one municipality. Second year we have implement 321 shishubikash Kendra, 40 Pre school and SIP at 40 Primary school. We have successfully implement our program by participation of community, GOV administration. All program are now on going in the field. Totally 28 office staff are regular supervise and monitoring program. All of activity implement by cooperation with Plan nilphamari program unit, Community Representative, and education department, Upozilla and district administration.
Goal and Objective:
Project Goal: To contribute to a functioning and effective home based early learning and primary education system in Jaldhaka Upazilla of Nilphamari District that enables every child in the area to complete quality primary education as rights through strengthening access, quality and governance equally for girls and boys.
Project objectives:
- To increase awareness of duty bearers i.e. parents, local governments, community based organization (CBO) through meeting, orientation and campaign to increase access of 3-5 years old children to home based early learning (SBK), and to Preschool by 2015.
- To increase skill of the teachers, caregivers, CBO, SMC through meeting, training and orientation so the children achieve 15 competences to address school readiness after graduation from Preschool by 2015.
- To increase inclusiveness and completion rate in Primary schools
- To increase awareness and skills of school teachers, SMC, Upazila Education Department and UP standing committee through meeting training and orientation so that the learner achieve 22 out of 27 measurable competences after completion of Primary education.
- To establish a functional child protection reporting and responding mechanism at rural primary schools in promoting violence free environment
- To launch evidence based advocacy on Upazila model of quality primary education and early learning to promote national level awareness and replication of SIP model
Outcome/result:
- Community and school-based ECCD support mechanism for all eligible children; excluded and marginalized, is established and functioning in Jaldhaka, Nilphamari
- Community and school-based quality learning support system for all eligible children of primary aged is established and functioning in Jaldhaka, Nilphamari.
- The model of bottom up, community focused SIP linked with national level advocacy is established and functioning
- The local authorities and communities are able to identify, plan and implement sustainable and inclusive ECCD and quality primary education interventions.
Outputs:
- 2300 community based SBK with 29,900 children of 3-5 years age are established and functional with quality learning
- 645 community and school based quality Preschools with 16,125 children of 5-6 year age are established and functioning
- Linkage established between 580 ECCD communities and 199 primary school.
- 4. Monitoring and supervision system involving community and schools established and schools supported to effectively facilitate children’s learning
- 199 schools with 31,080 learners and their parents are actively involved in planning and implementation of school improvement plan (SIP)
- Water and sanitation facility established in 199 school and 39,800 children (boys and girls separately) have access to sanitation facilities and its use.
- 995 Child ministries are formed in 199 schools (5 ministries in each school each ministry has 5 members) and 4,975 children participated in management and operation of academic, recreational and extra curricular activities.
- 199 SIP management committees formed with 1,727 members actively participated in participatory planning, implementation and monitoring
- SMC, CLC and CBOs and its members play pro-active roles and are able to manage ECCD and primary education with quality, which in this context would mean the 80/80 model as defined by the government in terms of achievement of competencies, in an environment that is joyful, child-centered and participatory for nurturing the potentials of all children, where trained teachers facilitate learning and satisfy needs of the children
- Schools have developed school level micro plans
