A progress review meeting between Dhaka Ahsania Mission’s education management and donor representatives of King Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation, Saudi Arabia has been held on 20 October 2024. The meeting is at the IDB building in Agargao, Dhaka. As a meeting participant Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Salem, KAAP Portfolio Manager, Dr. Mohamed Suhail, KAAP Manager, Bangladesh Country Coordinator Arif Shahid are attended from donor organization. From Dhaka Ahsania Mission, Md. Sajedul Qayyum Dulal, Executive Director of DAM, Joint Director of Education & TVET Md. Moniruzzaman and other management staffs KAAP-UUP education project are presented. A presentation is made at the meeting highlighting the progress of pre-primary, primary and junior secondary education programs for slum-area children under KAAP-UUP project.
The representatives of the donor agencies appreciated the learning environment of the children learning center, non-formal teaching-learning method for out-of-school children, learners’ attendance, learners’ assessment system and support provided by local community. The meeting also discusses about solving various problems and obstacles in providing education to children in slum areas. After the progress presentation, the delegation give various valuable suggestions regarding the educational progress and future development of the underprivileged children of the project areas. The delegation pledges to take this project forward for the education of out-of-school children in Bangladesh.
It should be noted that with the financial support of King Abdullah Humanitarian Foundation of Saudi Arabia, the education sector of Dhaka Ahsania Mission is working to provide quality education to slum dwellers in Mohammadpur and Mirpur of Dhaka and Saidpur Upazila of Nilphamari District. The project is working tirelessly to provide education to 29,250 children through 195 education centers during July 2020 to June 2025.
