Food and Iftar packages have been provided to 700 underprivileged persons and street children through the Education Sector of Dhaka Ahsania Mission. This program has started from April 8, 2023 under the Ramadan Food Package 2023 project with the financial support of Muslim Aid Country Office Bangladesh. Iftar packages have been handed out to 400 children in Mohammadpur, Jatrabari, Motijheel, Kamalapur, TT para, Kamalapur railway station areas. At the same time, 300 underprivileged poor families from Mirpur area in Dhaka city, Nalta area in Satkhira district and Galachipa Upazila in Patuakhali district have been given food packages equivalent to Tk 3000. Each package weighing 36 kg contains 20 kg of rice, 5 kg of potatoes, 2 liters of soybean oil, 2 kg of desi onion, garlic, chickpeas, and 1 kg of each product of lentil, desi onion, salt, dates, millet, Chickpeas, noodles etc. Among these, 100 poor families in Mirpur have received food vouchers equivalent to Tk 3,000, through which the poor families can purchase any food item from a super shop in Mirpur.
Ward Commissioner of Dhaka South City Corporation, Ward No. 8 in Kamalapur, TTpara, Kamalapur Railway Station area was present among the representatives selected to hand over the food Iftar packages. Moniruzzaman, representative of Muslim Aid Bangladesh Country Office Waliiullah, DAM Joint Secretary Md. Rafiqul Islam Bachchu in Satkhira, Project Coordinator of DIC project in Patuakhali. Nasir Uddin, field level officers and various social workers and volunteers of the concerned area are present In Food Voucher distribution ceremony, DAM Education Sector Joint Director Moniruzzaman said, Dhaka Ahsania Mission is implementing various activities for the underprivileged people and street children of the society.
One of the tasks is distribution of food and iftar packages. Dhaka Ahsania Mission is working to ensure the basic rights of poor people with the aim of overall development. Other guests present on the occasion urged everyone to provide food and health care for poor people. The underprivileged poor families and children present at the event expressed their happiness by receiving food and iftar packages.
