Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) jointly organized a daylong workshop on ‘Inception of ELNHA Project and Joint Action Planning’ at Fire Service and Civil Defense Training Complex Conference Room, Mirpur-10, Dhaka on 12 February, 2017. Director General (DG) of Department of Disaster Management (DDM), Md. Reaz Ahmed was present as chief guest while Project Manager of ELNHA Project; Oxfam in Bangladesh Suman Das and Principal of Fire Service and Civil Defense Training Complex, Mirpur Md. Mozzamal Hoque were present as special guests. The event was chaired by Dr. Tariq Bin Yousuf, Superintendent Engineer, Environment, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction, DNCC.
Project Director of DAM Golam Faruk Hamim inaugurated the workshop through delivering the welcome address. He shared the objectives of the workshop in his speech. Team Leader and also Assistant Director of Climate Change & Disaster Risk Reduction sector of DAM Md Jahangir Alam briefed the ELNHA project and shared the major findings, recommendations and indicative plan for humanitarian capacity building from Humanitarian Country Capacity Analysis (HUCOCA) report among the participants. He also moderated the group work session.
In the workshop, representatives from 19 individual organizations including government, NGO, private sectors, woman focused organizations, media & CBOs were present at that time.
