Project Introduction:
DAM Foundation for Economic Development (DFED) was established in October 2013 as a specialized economic development institution to offer financial services and other development programmes to enhance the socio-economic condition of poor people for creating their employment opportunities, raising income and increasing their asset and financial resources. It is resisterd by Joint Stock Companies & Firms by 2013 and the following year it got Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) certificate. Bangladesh is known for its Agro based economy where the small and marginal farmers are the main driving force of agriculture. To ensure food security of the country there is no alternate to increase agricultural production. The main constraints of achieving food security are less agricultural production, lack of investment, adverse effect of climate change in the form of natural disaster, lack of using appropriate technology, lack of technical knowledge and skill as well as land degradation. It is possible to contribute significant role by DFED through transferring appropriate technology and providing necessary fund among farmers in promoting productivity, increasing food security, improving rural livelihoods, and promoting agriculture as an engine of pro-poor economic growth. DFED gradually emerged as a prominent nationally well accepted non-profit and non-political development organization working on a wide range of and diversified innovative activities in different area of development at the grass roots level as well as national level.

Overall Objective:
DFED has set a range of specific objectives which are constitutionally adopted and contributing to its founding vision. The objectives of DFED are mentioned below:
- To address the needs of disadvantage households through financial and Technical services in order that they may become self-reliant and contribute as the active citizens of Bangladesh.
- To plan, organize, manage and implement programs and projects in the fields of Agriculture diversification, rural enterprise development, forestry, fishery, Livestock and other innovative technology aided higher value added products and Services.
- To provide support and training as may be necessary for the social and Economic development of the beneficiaries so as to achieve their self-reliance and sustainable development.
- To provide aid and assistance to the people affected by natural calamities and Disasters
- To inform the DFED’s program beneficiaries about facilities and services Available and provided by government, non-government organizations and Private agencies and assist them in receiving these.
- To enhance the socio-economic condition of the poor people through Undertaking value
- Added programs and projects as like Skill Development Training.
Specific Objectives:
- To provide month long skill training to the potential job seekers
- To provide skill training to the SMCE workers ( short course)
- To support the trained participants for certification and job placement
Outputs:
- Demand of skilled workers requirement on the above mentioned occupation(s) are collected from the SMCEs.
- Potential job seekers (poor men, women and disadvantaged categories) are selected from the working upazila as follows:
Mymensingh (6 upazila; Sadar-Mymensingh, Fulbaria, Haluaghat, Fulpur and also
- adjacent upazillas as per requirement)
- Potential job seekers are trained following the CBLM of the respective occupation under level 1.
- Trained participants are supported awarding certification from BTEB.
- Trained participants are supported getting job (job placement or self-employment).
