Project Name: Rural Pipe Water Supply System

Project Introduction:
Nalta is the birthplace of Khan BahadurAhsanullah, the founder of Dhaka Ahsania Mission. One of the main problems faced by the inhabitants was not having access to safe water. With the aim of Dhaka Ahsania Mission to aid the ailing and to serve the unserved, a project, funded by World Bank, and with technical assistance from the DPHE (Department of Public Health Engineering), was implemented to provide safe water to the people of the 11 villages under Nalta Union.
Overall Objective:Supplying safe water via pipelines at the doorsteps of the inhabitants of Nalta under Satkhira District.
Specific Objectives:

  • Setting up pumps to extract ground water from a suitable location
  • Connect the pumps to the beneficiary households via a reservoir
  • Develop a monthly tariff collection system for sustainability of the project

Outputs: The people of NaltaUnion under Satkhira district get access to safe water right in their households via pipelines
