Dhaka Ahsania Mission has organized the orientation Program for the focal persons of Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) at DAM Head Office (Auditorium) on 2nd November 2021. The orientation program was jointly organized by Admin & HR division and PSEA central committee of DAM. Fifty two (52) focal persons of different divisions, sectors, projects and institutions have participated in this event, of which 32 are female and male 20. The overall objective of the orientation on sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) is to enable DAM staff to respect and protect the dignity of beneficiaries principally by preventing it from occurring but secondarily by identifying, reporting, investigating and acting on cases that occur. DAM is committed to enhance the capacity through informing the policies and implementation regularly mechanism on safeguarding and address where necessary with all stakeholders related with the programs, institutions and organization.
Dr. M Ehsanur Rahman, Executive Director was delivered the opening speech and request to all participants to make sure that SEA issues are operationalize. Dr. S. M Khalilur Rahman, General Secretary, DAM and Chairperson of Central PSEA committee explained the philosophy of DAM founder and vision and mission of DAM. He also focused the organizational values, which is related with the basic approach of SEA.
The orientation program was facilitate by Md. Jahangir Alam, Joint Director and Member Secretary of central PSEA Committee; Dr. Rahena Begum, Sr. Counselor and member PSEA Committee. Mr. Iqbal Masud, Director, Health & WASH Sector and member central PSEA committee has presented the basic of DAM Employee Code of Conduct. Md. Habibur Rahman, Deputy Director (HR) and member central PSEA committee linked the DAM service rules with SEA. Different sessions were facilitate by Ms. Mahfida Dina Rubaiya, Program Manager, Health sector; Ms. Farhana Begum, District training coordinator, Education Sector and Ms. Rahatara Etu, District Coordinator, CEMB project.
The session was concluded by Mr. Kazi Rafiqul Alam, President of DAM.
