Dhaka Ahsania Mission organized a joint advocacy consultation program on the worst forms of child labour in Bangladesh

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) has organized a consultation program with Civil Society Organizations for joint advocacy on the worst forms of child labour in Bangladesh on 24 march 2021 as a part of the Child Labour Action-Research-Innovation in South and South-Eastern Asia (CLARISSA) Consortium in Bangladesh.

The consultation program is moderated by Md. Shahidul Islam, Chief of Education & TVET of DAM along with MsJiniyaAfroze, Country Coordinator of CLARISSA Bangladesh. Executive Director of DAM Dr. M. Ehsanur Rahman started the consultation with welcome speech. JiniyaAfroze, Country Coordinator of CLARISSA Bangladesh, introduced the CLARISSA project. A.K.M Maksud, Technical Advisor of CLARISSA, Bangladesh has shared a presentation on worst forms of child labour situation Bangladesh- Scenario of leather supply chain in Bangladesh. MsSayedaMuniraSulatana, National Project Coordinator at International Labour Organization (ILO), also spoke on the occasion about Policy recommendation and expressed her keen interest to work with the CLARISSA team. Regional Coordinator for CLARISSA SudarshanNeupane also presents in the consultation along with other representatives of Civil Society Organizations.

The objective of the Consultation is to discuss on contemporary child labour issues in Bangladesh and finding common ground for joint advocacy with government.
