A delegation team of Concern Universal (CU) led by Project Manager of Discovery programme in Malawi Senard Elisa visited field activities of “Cross- Border Transfer of Agricultural Technologies, Institutional and Market Development (CATT)” project on 2 and 3 May’ 2014 in Jamalpur Sadar and Madergonj Upazila. First day, the delegation team visited Service Provider Association (SPA) of Jamalpur Sadar Upazila. A member of SPA briefed the activities of the Association and next year planning. Then they went at Uzanpara village under Laxmir char union of the upazila with a view to visiting Micro and Small Enterprise(MSE) and other activities. Senard talked to the member of MSE group and wanted to know the cause of forming MSE, production and sell jointly etc. After that he visited multi-layer vegetable garden & collection point (Vegetables). The following day, he visited service centre at Adarvita union parishad and talked to Md. Belel Hossain, LSP ( Local Service Provider, livestock) about their service center. Then, he discussed with group members. After that, he observed technical session, facilitated by LSP at Dhudhiagacha village under Adarvita union. Finally he made encomium the project activities in the rural areas run by partnership approach. Others member with the team were Md. Shamim Hossain, Project Manager, Concern Universal Bangladesh (CUB), Md. Monowar Hossain, CUB, Md. Shadiqur Rahman, Project Manager, DAM, Arbindu Chandra Roy (TTC) Dhaka Ahsania Mission and Murad Khan Wahid, Md. Mazharul Islam and Md. Kamrul Hossain from Helvetas Swiss Inter Cooperation. Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is implementing the project titled “Cross- Border Transfer of Agricultural Technologies, Institutional and Market Development” at five Upazila of Jamalpur district funded by EU where Concern Universal Bangladesh as a lead applicant and Helvetas Swiss Inter cooperation as a technical partner. The objectives of the visit are to know how DAM implementing the mentioned project activities in the rural areas for changing the livelihood of the poor people through partnership approach.
