Project Introduction:
All the 13 Member-organizations supported by CORDAID and working in the area of Disaster Risk Reduction in Bangladesh gathered in Mymensingh on the occasion of 1st Learning Cycle Meeting during March 29 to April 02, 2009. The member organizations felt the urgency and thereby decided to form a Hazard?-specific and Risk Reduction-focus Forum towards collaboration, cooperation and coordination in the area of Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction, so as to maintain a regular operational link a among the actors in the interest of better risk fighting, capacity building and livelihood protection & promoting performance.
Goal and Objective:
Hazard & Risk-free community and locality providing with safe livelihood options just disaster after-math and associated hassles.
- Coordinate P-NGOs linkage towards better understanding and perceptional clarity
- Collaborative involvement for positive DRR and Capacity Building impact
- Facilitating Partner NGOs risk reduction process
- Supporting Partner’s capacity building initiatives
- Sharing of learning, strategies, good practices, news and events
- Information exchange, experience sharing, exploring enabling opportunities
- Policy Advocacy / Issue-based Dialogue towards facilitating smooth paradigm shift
- Substantial focus on community-managed disaster risk reduction
